frozen fingers and last-minute gigs: seoul winter blues

man, my hands are numb from hauling gear through this arctic bullshit. just checked and it's a solid -9°C out there, feels like -16°C if you're standing still. hope you brought your parka because this city doesn't play nice.

been living off convenience store kimchi sandwiches and bad coffee while hunting for stages. someone told me that this club in hongdae has a killer sound system but the owner's a nightmare about noise complaints. heard it from the bass player who got kicked out last week.

Koi fish swim in the water.

if you get bored, incheon and suwon are just a short drive away. but honestly? the cold makes me want to stay near this weird park where these koi were floating under the ice. looked like they were judging my life choices.

green trees near brown building during daytime

found this random brown building surrounded by trees near the university. looked like a movie set but was probably just some admin office. spent 20 minutes trying to get good light while my toes turned into popsicles.

woman in pink dress jumping on the air

saw this woman in a pink dress jumping outside a cafe today. reminded me why i started this madness. then remembered i have a gig tonight where the heater's probably broken.

for decent coffee spots, check out yelp reviews - this place actually stays warm. and if you need a stage, tripadvisor has some listings for bars that don't require you to bribe the doorman.

the pressure's at 1026 hpa, which apparently means the cold air's not going anywhere soon. great. guess i'll keep wearing all my sweaters at once.
