gwalior: where the street beats and the history sings

so i just got off the train in *gwalior and let me tell you, the vibe is... something else. i'm here to busk, you know, play my guitar for change, try to make enough for a decent meal and maybe a place to crash. the place has this energy, man, like the stones are humming with stories.

i just peeked at the weather, it's
chilling at 18.52°C, so if you're into that kind of cool breeze, you're in luck. perfect for singing your heart out without sweating through your shirt. but bring a jacket because when the sun dips, it gets nippy.

if the scene gets old,
gwalior and agra are just a hop, skip, and a jump away. i heard a whisper that the chai at this one stall can cure any hangover, but take it with a grain of salt. also, someone told me that the fort here is haunted by a musician who never got his big break, which is why you sometimes hear faint tunes on quiet nights. spooky, but cool, right?

you gotta check out
the market near the fort for some authentic stuff. i got my hat for like 50 bucks, and it's the best busking hat ever. and the people? super cool, as long as you don't block the way. but i saw this dude doing some crazy acrobatics for kids, and the kids were loving it. that's the kind of stuff you can't plan, you know?

if you're thinking of busking here, my advice: stick to the touristy spots but don't overstay your welcome. the cops are cool as long as you keep it low-key. i heard on the grapevine that
the main square has a hidden spot where the acoustics are unreal, but i haven't found it yet. maybe you will?

also, don't even think about skipping
jai vilas palace. the place is like a dream, and the garden is perfect for a quiet moment. if you're into history, this is your jam. but if you're a tourist, you might want to check out this TripAdvisor link for more and maybe this Yelp review for a local eatery.

and hey, if you're a traveler, you might want to check out this local board for events because you never know when there's a festival or something. that's where i found out about the
weekly music night* at the community center. totally worth it.

so yeah, gwalior. it's got history, it's got life, and it's got opportunities for a busker like me. just gotta keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground. peace out!
