kuala lumpur: where the humidity sticks to your clothes and the roads curve like satay sticks
so here i am, sweating through my third shirt of the day because apparently 89% humidity is just how kuala lumpur says 'hello.' i just checked and it's 25.88°C there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. feels like 26 though, which is malaysia's way of reminding you that weather apps lie.
someone told me that the petronas towers look like two corn cobs making out, and honestly? can't unsee it now. the city's wedged between rivers called 'klang' and 'gombak' - which i keep mispronouncing as 'gom-bak' like i'm some australian surfer dude. if you get bored, port kelang and whatever's left of selangor state are just a short drive away. not that i'd know, because every time i try to leave, the monorail eats my coins and spits out receipts in malay. fun fact: this place was literally built on muddy river junctions. they named it after sludge. poetic. also there's about 2 million people packed into 243 sq km, which explains why the malls feel like human lasagna. someone told me the food stalls near bukit nanas serve something that'll either cure your hangover or give you a new one, but i've been too scared to try. i did learn that the city became capital in 1974, which is wild because it feels both ancient and like they're still gluing the skyscrapers together.
