meerut chaos: a photographer's blurry morning
well. another one in the books. or not. my memory's kinda foggy after trying to chase dawn light through this city. just checked the weather and it's 16.6°C with a humidity that feels like a dry desert, so pack layers if you're coming. my camera gear's sweating less though, which is a win. started at the grain market at 5am because someone told me the spice stalls glow like rubies when the first hits come through. turns out they were right, but getting bumped by pushcarts makes for shaky shots.
got stuck behind a wedding procession near the cantt. band was loud, colors were insane, but my wide lens couldn't capture the whole mess.
if you run out of film rolls here, delhi's only a train ride away for better coffee and less attention. heard on the street that the shahi qila's got a secret viewpoint nobody writes about in guidebooks, but my rickshaw driver charged double to get lost looking for it. spent an hour at a chai stand chatting with the owner about how locals pose for portraits-turns out they hate smiling.
my fingers are still gritty from the dust near the Jama Masjid. someone whispered the blue tiles look best in rain, but today's pressure reading's at 1017 hpa so no clouds in sight. grabbed lunch at a hole-in-the-wall where the owner yelled at me for blocking their sign.
for eats, check out the reviews on Yelp near the railway station. temple recommendations? TripAdvisor lies about the crowds. official stuff's on Uttar Pradesh Tourism but their photoshopped skies make me itch. battery's dead. going to bed. maybe tomorrow i'll find a focus.
