Quezon City Vibes: Sweat, Stories, and Surprises
okay so i just got back from quezon city and wow, what a trip. the weather was...let's just say it was like walking through a warm hug that didn't know when to let go. i just checked and it's 26.78°c there right now, feels like 28.71°c, hope you like that kind of thing. humidity was at 73%, so yeah, bring a towel or something.
anyway, i stayed in this little spot near katipunan, and let me tell you, the energy there is wild. someone told me that the best pancit canton in the city is sold out of a tiny cart near up diliman. i didn't believe it until i tried it. now i'm a believer. also, overheard a local saying that the night markets in maginhawa are the place to be if you want to eat your feelings and not regret it.
if you get bored, manila and pasig are just a short drive away. i didn't make it to pasig this time, but i heard their riverside park is worth the detour. someone else mentioned that the street art in quezon city is next level, especially around teachers village. i spent an afternoon just wandering and snapping pics, and honestly, it felt like the city was telling its own story.
i also checked out this tiny coffee shop called *the nook (not making this up, that's the name). it's the kind of place where the barista remembers your name after one visit. i heard they do this thing where they write little notes on your cup, like "have a great day" or "you look like you need this coffee." cheesy? maybe. but it worked on me.
and okay, let's talk about the people. quezon city is a mix of everything-students, artists, families, and yeah, a few lost tourists like me. i met this guy at a street food stall who swore that the best halo-halo in the city is sold at this place called raspberry's. i didn't try it (i was too full from pancit), but i'm taking his word for it.
so yeah, quezon city. it's loud, it's hot, it's chaotic, and i loved every second of it. if you're planning a trip, just go. don't overthink it. and if you find that pancit cart, tell them i said hi.
p.s. check out tripadvisor for more recs, or yelp* if you're into reading reviews from people who probably didn't even go there.
