SeasideHaven: Where the Heat Hits Hard and the Coffee's Even Harder

so i just checked and it's... there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. 30.14 degrees, feels like 28.26. feels like a sauna with a side of desert wind. humidity's a measly 16%, so yeah, it's dry as a bone. pressure's normal, but the sea level's 1013, grnd level's 930. basically, the air's thick and heavy, like someone forgot to open a window. if you get bored, nearby towns are just a short drive away, but honestly, why leave paradise? someone told me that the local café has the best coffee, but only if you go before 9 am. i heard that from a guy who looked like he'd been up all night sketching the harbor. reviews? well, let's just say the hostel i stayed at got mixed reviews. someone said the showers were cold, another swore they saw a ghost in the common room. i didn't see the ghost, but the shower was definitely brisk. maybe that's why the locals are so friendly? they're just trying to warm up. i mean, seriously, 30 degrees? i packed for a beach, not a sauna. but hey, the view's worth it. check out the map below to see where i got lost trying to find the free walking tour. i swear, the locals here have a weird sense of direction. or maybe it's just me. anyway, here's a tip: if you're on a budget, hit up the market stalls early. the fruit's cheaper, and the vendors are less grumpy. and avoid the tourist traps near the pier after dark. someone told me that the street artist near the old lighthouse does amazing portraits, but only if you tip in local currency. i tried that, and he drew me looking like a pirate. it was... memorable. oh, and the weather? it's... there. hope you like that kind of thing. links: check out the free walking tour on tripadvisor, the best budget eats on yelp, and the local board for ghost stories. seriously, the ghost stories. and the map. the map's important. because i got lost. a lot.
