so this place is wild
i just checked and it's 22.92°c there right now, feels like 23.72°c, hope you like that kind of thing. the humidity's sitting at 94%, so yeah, it's muggy. pressure's at 1011, sea level same, ground level 999. i heard that the locals don't even notice it anymore, but i'm sweating like i just ran a marathon. someone told me that the best time to explore is early morning before the heat kicks in, but i'm not a morning person, so here we are.
i'm staying somewhere near the center, and honestly, the streets are a maze. i keep getting turned around, but that's half the fun, right? if you get bored, teresina and parnaíba are just a short drive away. i checked out some reviews on TripAdvisor, and people seem to love the local markets. i haven't been yet, but i'm planning to hit one up tomorrow.
the food here is something else. i grabbed a bite at this little spot i found on Yelp, and it was cheap and filling. i heard that the acarajé is a must-try, but i haven't worked up the courage yet. maybe tomorrow. for now, i'm just trying to survive the humidity and figure out where the heck i am.
