Tokyo's Haunted Corners & Freezing Fingers: A Ghost Hunter's Messy Guide

okay so i land in this concrete jungle where the *neon signs buzz louder than the spirits do. and the cold? oh man, it's that sneaky damp-in-your-bones kind of freeze that makes your fingers go numb even in gloves. i just looked and it's out there, wrapping around you like a phantom's hug, hope you like that kind of thing. humidity's at 49% but it feels like 2.69°C inside an abandoned warehouse - which is basically every building in this city after midnight. pressure's high at 1017 though, so at least the ghosts aren't feeling too depressed about the weather.

so i'm camped out in this alley near
shibuya, where the trash cans rattle like they're trying to tell a secret. if you get bored of ectoplasm, kyoto is just a bullet train ride away - though honestly why would you leave? the vibes here are insane. someone told me this warehouse district was where the yakuza dumped bodies post-war. now the rats are the only inhabitants. i found this diner open 24/7 where the waitress warned me 'don't go looking in the basement after 3am. the plumbing gets... active.' and she wasn't joking about the water pressure.

heard a local
drunk rambling about this tunnel near shinjuku station where if you knock three times, you hear footsteps. tried it. got security yelling instead. pro tip: always bring batteries for your emf detector - the cold murders them faster than a poltergeist. also ignore any old ladies offering you candy near harajuku. they're not what they seem. seriously. check the local forums if you don't believe me.

the evidence? pfft. bring thermal gear and a camera that doesn't glitch in cold. oh and maybe avoid cat cafes at night. the meowing gets... distorted.

some tourist i met said the hotel in ginza has rooms where you see shadow figures. but then again he was wearing socks with sandals so...

found this
vintage bookstore where the owner gave me a map of suicide spots. 'for research,' he winked. like i need more nightmares. also Yelp has decent paranormal tours if you're too lazy to hunt alone. just avoid the van with the glowing bumper sticker.

going to bed now. hope my
sleeping bag doesn't start shaking tonight. peace out, ghost*chasers.
