vũng tàu in the middle of a heatwave and still weirdly charming

so here i am in vũng tàu, sweating through my shirt at 24.06°c but somehow it still feels like 24.48°c because humidity is at 75%. the air is thick enough to chew, and the pressure's sitting at 1009 like it's just waiting for something dramatic to happen. but honestly? i kinda love it.

i heard from a random guy at a beach-side bánh kh’túm stall that the sea level here is 1009 too, which makes no sense but sounded important. someone else told me the ground level drops to 994 near the lighthouse, which might explain why my legs felt like jelly after climbing those stairs. local rumors, you know how it is.

anyway, if you're planning to visit, *bãi sau beach is where everyone ends up eventually. it's loud, sandy, and full of people selling iced coffee for 15k vnd. i sat there for two hours watching teenagers do backflips into the waves while an old man sold grilled squid from a basket on his bike. classic.

"don't trust the pineapple vendor near the pier. he'll tell you it's sweet, but it's sour as regret."

that's what a sunburned tourist whispered to me while waiting for the ferry. i didn't take the risk.

if you get bored,
ho chi minh city and vũng tàu's quieter neighbor, long h’i, are just a short drive away. but honestly, why leave? the chaos here is half the fun.

i just checked and it's
24.06°c* there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. bring sunscreen, a hat, and maybe a portable fan. or just embrace the sweat. either way, vũng tàu doesn't care-it'll still be here, sticky and stubborn, waiting for you to love it anyway.
