Wandering Through 366847's Absurd Heat – A Photographer's Diary

@Mia Sinclair2/14/2026blog

its been 36 hours since i last slept so the neon signs in 366847 look like oil on fever glass, but im still here. the heat isnt a thing its a weapon, 33.91°c today and sweating feels like breathing underwater. my camera sensor is probably melting but who cares when the street art downtown is bleeding colors into every wall? i overheard a vendor whisper “this heat will kill you before the chicken does” while flipping skewers. weird advice but hey, its better than the tap water rumor.

*try the snail kebabs at al-zawwin st, someone told me they're blackened by mistake not on purpose. probs fictional but hey, i ate one. next to Teherba Ave there's a mural of a man crying under a sticker of a dog. human? no, but it works.

the kids here skateboarding past crumbling billboards look like they own the place. i took a photo of a kid in a
T-shirt with a coffee cup dripping ink. his dad yelled “oh shit! that's my son” then tossed me a mango smoothie. tourist bait or genuine? who knows. the dog near the souk licked my lens like it was a water bottle.

people here don't
travel they survive*. my phone maps opened to 13.1483,33.9311 and the streets were alive with chaos. check the Instagram spot for ancient ruins but dont trust the Yelp reviews. some guy wrote 4 stars just to bait haters.

i’m sitting on a curb now watching a parrot fight a goat. the goat won. maybe that's the lesson here. maps.google.com if you wanna find the chaos.
