Wandering Through a City That Feels Like It's Hiding Something

i don't even know where to start with this place. it's one of those cities that feels like it's holding its breath, waiting for you to figure out the secret. the weather? apparently it's 29°c and feels like 27°c right now. dry as a bone, 24% humidity. if you're into that kind of heat, you're in luck. but honestly, it's the kind of heat that makes you question every life choice that led you here.

i heard someone say that the best coffee in town is at this tiny spot called *the grindstone. they said it's so good it'll make you forget you're sweating through your shirt. i haven't been yet, but i'm taking their word for it. if you get bored, dhaka and sylhet are just a short drive away. not that you'd want to leave this place, but hey, options are nice.

walking around here feels like stepping into a movie where the plot hasn't quite revealed itself yet. the streets are narrow, the buildings are older than your grandma, and every corner has a story. i overheard a local saying that the
old bazaar is where all the magic happens. apparently, it's where you can find everything from spices that smell like heaven to trinkets that probably belong in a museum. i'm not sure if that's true, but i'm willing to risk it.

and then there's the food. oh man, the food. someone told me that the
street food here is life-changing. they said the chaat is so good it'll make you question why you ever ate anything else. i haven't tried it yet, but i'm already planning my next meal. if you're into food, this place is a goldmine.

i also heard a rumor that the
riverfront* is the best place to catch a sunset. someone said it's like the sky is putting on a show just for you. i haven't seen it yet, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed for clear skies. if you're into sunsets, this might be your thing.

anyway, here's a map to help you navigate this maze of a city:

and here are some images to give you a taste of what you're in for:

if you're planning a trip here, just know that it's not your typical tourist spot. it's messy, it's chaotic, and it's absolutely worth it. bring an open mind, a good pair of walking shoes, and maybe a fan. you're gonna need it.
