Zurich's Concrete Canvases: A Street Artist's Cold War
just got into zurich and my fingers are already numb. the weather app says it's practically a popsicle outside right now - hope you brought extra gloves. humidity's so thick i swear my spray cans are sweating more than i am after running from the police.
found this abandoned warehouse district that's basically a goldmine for tags. the concrete texture is perfect, but the locals here are... intense. someone told me the city's got some kind of graffiti SWAT team that rolls through at 3am like ninjas. if you get bored tagging the same spots, *lucerne is just a short train ride away for fresher walls.
i overheard at this sketchy bar that the mayor's got a hard-on for murals but throws a fit at throwups. locals warned me about the pressure systems too - apparently the clouds dump rain when you least need it. my cans keep clogging in this damp mess.
i heard that the real street art scene happens in the industrial zones after midnight. cops usually turn a blind eye if you're not near tourist traps. just don't touch the schauspielhaus* - that's where the big dogs play.
discovered this riverbank spot where the tags from the 90s are still haunting the walls. feels like finding a time capsule. if the pressure drops again, we might be painting in a blizzard. wish me luck - Zurich Street Art Tours says they've got the best spots... probably not the ones i'm hitting though.
someone mentioned that if you tag near the Hauptbahnhof, your work disappears before sunrise. but the alley behind Migros is legendary - supposedly Banksy's cousin left something there last year.
found some wheatpaste art near Kunsthaus that's got this whole existential vibe. the humidity's making everything peel off like bad wallpaper. might switch to stencils if this weather doesn't quit. Zurich Tourism is useless for actual spots - just tells you to go to galleries. pfft.
