dusty lenses and dry air: chasing light in a city that won’t sit still

the humidity’s at 22% today-my camera lenses are cracking like old leather and i’m drinking coffee that tastes like it was brewed in a tin can. just checked the weather app and it’s 19.6°C out there, which sounds nice until you realize ‘feels like 18.19’ actually means ‘your fingertips will rebel’ while adjusting your aperture. hope you packed layers.

spent the morning arguing with a street vendor about the ‘best angle’ to photograph his tamale cart. he won. shoot in golden hour or don’t shoot at all, apparently. someone told me La Casa de los Azulejos has a back staircase where the light fracture’s perfect at 3pm, but when i got there it was swarming with influencers doing TikTok dances. crisis.
