Frosthaven's Frozen Fury: A Botanist's Bitterly Beautiful Battle with the Cold

so i just checked the forecast and it's...well, it's there. like, really there. -10.29°c with a feels-like of -16.31°c. basically, your nose hairs are staging a mutiny. hope you packed your soul in a thermos. i mean, seriously, the humidity is 92%. it's like breathing through a wet wool sock stuffed in a freezer. the pressure's 1021, which sounds nice until you realize it's just the atmosphere squeezing the warmth out of you. grnd level pressure is 962, which is basically the earth sighing under the weight of this chill. if you get bored, [cities] are just a short drive away. but honestly, why leave? the frozen wasteland has its own...charm? someone told me that the local café has the best coffee, but only if you're into that kind of thing. i heard that the park's frozen lake is supposedly 'magical' at dawn, but i suspect it's just the cold warping your brain. i mean, who really wants to see frozen grass? i'm here trying to find a single hardy plant that hasn't given up the ghost, and all i see is...more cold. the wind whips around like a disgruntled spirit, and the silence is so loud it's deafening. it's a place that demands respect, or at least a very good coat.

a lone tree silhouetted against a grey sky

snow-covered rooftops under a heavy sky

a frozen stream cutting through a snowy field

check out what the locals are saying on [TripAdvisor] or maybe [Yelp] if you dare. honestly, i'm just here trying to survive the 'vibe' and find a plant that doesn't look like it's plotting my demise. the 'heart of' frosthaven is probably buried under a glacier by now.
