Hachinohe: Where Street Art Meets Frostbite

okay, so hachinohe. been here for a minute, trying to tag up the town but my fingers are falling off. i just looked at the temp and it's basically a frozen popsicle out there, 4.84°C feels like 0.42°C, so dress in like 20 layers or something. if you're feeling cooped up, the next big town is a bus ride away, but honestly why leave? someone told me that the old warehouse by the port is haunted, but also that they saw some sick aerosol art there last week. take that as you will.

the *port area is where it's at, but be careful of the security. they don't like artists much. i overheard some drunk locals at a izakaya saying the abandoned fish market has killer acoustics for beatboxing though. also, check out this Yelp for some local spots. and here's a TripAdvisor guide that barely mentions anything useful.

pressure's at 1017 mb today-like the sky's holding its breath. humidity's 74%, so your paint might dry slower than molasses in january. someone warned me that the
community center* has strict no-spraying rules, but their bathroom walls are prime real estate if you time it right. heard from a sketchy source that the local art teacher actually turns a blind eye to murals near the train station.

also, always carry a backup spray can because the cold can mess with your paint. and maybe hit up this local board if you can read japanese. okay, that's it. peace.
