hot as hell and center of everything: nagpur vibes
okay look. i’m sitting here sticky with sweat that’s 40% humidity and 60% existential dread because nagpur doesn’t care about your comfort. i just checked and it’s 29°C with a feels-like of 27.5°C right now, but trust me, it’s probably lying-this place flirts with 48°C in summer. hope you like that kind of thing.
the whole city’s built around this weird british-era rock called the zero mile stone that allegedly marks india’s center. someone told me that it’s just a slab of concrete but honestly i cried a little when i saw it. maybe it was the heat.
you know what they don’t tell you? nagpur’s built on literal sand and clay. like, one wrong step and you’re ankle-deep in deccan plateau dust. but hey, at least the british left their sitabuldi fort on top of some hills so you can pant your way up there for views. if you get bored (you won’t), mumbai’s 837km away, delhi’s 1,094km, and kolkata’s… why bother.
monsoons? oh right, they dump 1,200mm of rain here like god’s own firehose. july’s basically floating season. winters are chill though-13°C lows feel like a miracle after summer’s oven mode. don’t get me started on the traffic. this city’s growing faster than my laundry pile, and everyone’s either selling oranges (yes, it’s the orange city) or honking at each other on NH-6.
anyway. bring water. don’t come in may. pretend you care about maratha history. i’m going to nap now.
