jodhpur: where the wifi works and the blue walls don't lie

okay so i’m camped in jodhpur for the week and let me tell you, this city’s got a weird energy. the air smells like dust and cardamom, which is... fine, i guess. but the internet at my guesthouse? shockingly reliable for india. shocking. i’m talking zoom calls without buffering-i think the routers might be magic or something.

i just checked the weather and it’s... 21.4°C, feels like 20.4°C, so basically perfect hoodie weather if you’re into that. the locals are sweating less than i expected though-maybe they’re all secretly lizards. humidity’s at 30%, which means my hair actually behaves for once. miracles happen.

if you run out of things to stare at, udaipur and jaisalmer are just a short drive away. i’m eyeing jaisalmer for next weekend-dunes and camels? yes please. but honestly, jodhpur’s got this vibe where you could just wander for days and find new alleys. or get lost. same thing.

someone told me the café near the clock tower has chai that’ll change your life, but also that the owner’s a legend who once kicked out a tourist for asking for almond milk in masala chai. true? maybe. but i tried the chai anyway-spicy as hell, no almond milk in sight. worth it.

heard whispers about a rooftop bar at *Mehrangarh Fort that’s lit up at sunset-apparently it’s where instagram influencers go to die. or become famous. not sure. also, this joint called Om Shanti* has thali for 150 rupees that’ll make you forget you’re a broke digital nomad. check their reviews on Yelp if you’re skeptical.

pressure’s at 1017 hPa, which i’m told means it’s gonna be clear skies all week. good, because i’ve got deadlines. and deadlines mean i need more chai. and maybe a turban. not sure yet.
