my montreal adventure: cold, crazy, and totally worth it

i'm sitting here with a cup of coffee, trying to process everything that happened in montreal. it's a city that's hard to describe, but i'll try my best. first of all, the weather - i just checked and it's -7.59 degrees celsius there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. apparently it's not uncommon to get temps as low as -20 degrees celsius in the winter, so bundle up if you're planning a visit.

. i didn't get a chance to explore the surrounding areas too much, but if you get bored, laval, longueuil, and saint-lambert are just a short drive away. someone told me that old montreal is a must-visit, with its historic architecture and whatnot. i can see why - it's like stepping back in time.

. the food in montreal is also supposed to be pretty great, someone told me that the smoked meat sandwiches at schwartz's deli are a game-changer. and don't even get me started on poutine - it's like the ultimate comfort food.

wide-angle photography of buildings during daytime

. what really struck me about montreal, though, was the mix of cultures. you've got french, english, and all sorts of other influences all mashed together, and it creates this really unique vibe.

. of course, there are also some pretty famous people from montreal - celine dion, leonard cohen, and william shatner, to name a few. anyway, i hope you've enjoyed this little taste of montreal. it's not always easy to write about a place, but i tried my best to give you a sense of what it's like. don't forget to pack warm clothes if you're visiting in the winter...
