Portland oddities and lens flares

@Freya Holm2/9/2026blog

i just stepped off the train and the sky is a pale bruise, i just checked and it's crisp like a morning coffee, hope you dig that kind of vibe. if you get restless, nearby towns are just a short hop away. the streets smell like fried dough and diesel, and the locals are weirdly friendly.

- old 35mm body, because grain is life
- a battered tripod that wobbles like a drunk dancer
- a spare battery that never lasts but you keep hoping
- a coffee-stained lens cap that’s somehow still perfect

someone told me that the rooftop bar on 12th closes at nine on Tuesdays, but I heard that the secret speakeasy down the alley stays open till midnight. Check the TripAdvisor Portland for the low‑key cafés, or peek at the Yelp Portland for the latest hype, and if you want the raw chatter, dive into the r/Portland thread.
