Studying in Quetta: Top Universities and Student Life - The Good, The Bad, and The Chaos

so i've been living in quetta for a while now, and i gotta say, it's been a wild ride. as a freelance photographer, i'm always on the lookout for new spots to shoot, and quetta's got some amazing landscapes. but, let's get to the point - studying in quetta.

the city's got a few decent universities, like the university of balochistan and the balochistan university of information technology, engineering and management sciences. i've heard mixed reviews about them, but hey, that's what i'm here for - to give you the lowdown.

according to some stats i found, the cost of living in quetta is relatively low, with rent starting from around 8,000 - 15,000 pkr per month for a one-bedroom apartment. but, like with any city, there are some safety concerns - just use your common sense, you know? don't walk around alone at night, and avoid carrying large amounts of cash. i've also heard rumors about the job market being a bit tough, but there are some opportunities in the education and healthcare sectors.

if you're looking for some advice on what to do in quetta, i'd say check out the Quetta subreddit for some decent threads on the best spots to visit. and, if you're feeling adventurous, take a trip to the Hanna Lake - it's only a short drive away. just watch out for the weather - quetta can get pretty cold in the winters, and the roads can get pretty dodgy. if you're planning to fly in, the Quetta International Airport is your best bet. and, if you're looking for some reviews on the local universities, check out TripAdvisor or Yelp. some of the neighboring cities, like Karachi and Lahore, are just a short flight away, so you can easily take a weekend trip if you need a break from quetta's chaos.
