vintage finds and misty mornings in mystic vale

woke up this morning to the sound of rain tapping on my window like someone was tapping code. i checked the weather and it's 13.07 out there right now, which feels like a soggy comfortably. i’m a vintage clothes picker, so i’ve been hunting for that one jacket that’s not-quite-there in the used shop down by the docks. turns out it was sold to a guy who thinks it’s a ‘statement piece for his automobile collection.’

if you get bored, the hills beyond are just a short drive away. i heard that from a barista at yelp.com/some-cafe-review who was definitely not sober when they said it. the place she mentioned? it’s either a scam or a hidden gem. can’t tell. maybe the mystery’s part of the charm.

someone told me that the old library has a collection of books bound in actual leaves. i don’t know if that’s true or if they’re just leafing through excuses to avoid talking about their ex. i went there anyway. the air smelled like mildew and regret. a local warned me about the neighbor who plays bagpipes at 3 a.m. i didn’t believe them. i was wrong. now i have a headache and a new playlist.

here’s the deal with this place: it’s 90% humidity and 30% existential dread. i took pictures of a snail climbing a tree and a mushroom cluster because why not?

the snail looked like it was in a horror movie. the mushrooms were radiating joy. i don’t know which one to trust.

pro tip: if you’re wearing vintage clothes here, adjust your belt. seriously. the humidity will make your belt hole act like a portal to another dimension. don’t ask how i know.
