phuket at 3 am when the stars are hotter than my coffee

@Sebastian Blair2/11/2026blog

well i landed in phuket last night and here's what happened. the airport had that smell i only associate with jet fuel and existential dread. checked into a place called "the leaky bungalow" because the google reviews said it was authentic which sounded like a good enough excuse to be trapped there. morning came and i realized the beach was exactly 10 meters from my window but also directly above my head because of this relentless humidity. i just checked and it's 25.43 degrees there right now, which honestly doesn't feel like anything until you're sweating through your hair and trying to choke down lukewarm iced coffee.

1608775993 was the time i woke up. or maybe it was 1698822? either way i was too tired to care. the only thing consistent was the 93% humidity. my skin felt like it was holding a swimsuits account. i did some yoga at sunrise because i remembered i packed a mat. my instructor was this old dude who kept saying "breathe like you're sipping espresso" which made zero sense but i did it anyway.
