Tbilisi: My Messy Love-Hate Relationship with the City

so i just checked and it's...there right now, hope you like that kind of thing. 7.33°c, feels like 7.33°c, humidity 53%. not exactly beach weather, but hey, it's georgia. the city sits at 41·43' north, 44·47' east, right where europe meets asia. kinda cool, right? kinda. surrounded by mountains, the kura river snaking through it like a lazy snake. population? like 1.25 million people. feels like a big town sometimes, other times...well, it's just tbilisi.

geography and climate? humid temperate, but with a kick. summers are hot and humid, winters are long and snowy. average temp is 13.8°c, but right now it's 7.33°c. weird. winters are cold, summers are...well, summer. 25-35°c hot. and it's windy. really windy. like, 20.9 kph windy. and dry. 500mm of rain a year. spring is wet, autumn is nice, summer is clear, winter is...winter. the mountains protect it from russia's cold, but the caspian and black sea make it milder than other places at the same latitude. kinda a mixed bag, tbilisi.

if you get bored, kutaisi or batumi are just a short drive away. someone told me batumi is more...coastal. tbilisi is more...mountainy. tbilisi has this valley thing going on, which makes the weather milder. kinda nice, kinda not. the mountains create different microclimates. tbilisi feels unique, i guess. not sure if that's good or bad.
